Covid 19 Measures in Effect at Royal Canadian Lodge

Prior to your arrival, we want to make you aware of some changes to our services in response to enhanced public health measures in effect in the Province of Alberta.


Masks - Proper masks are required in all public indoor spaces in Banff. This includes when your household is entering the lobby, in hotel hallways, elevators and picking up orders at the restaurant.   


Pool, Hot Tub, Sauna & Fitness Room  Are open with a limit on capacity. Guests will be required to make a reservation to use the area. The pool & hot tub are open from 9 am -11 pm daily. 


  • Reservations must be made in person, on a same day basis, by in -house guests.
  • In-house guests may contact the Front Desk (by phone or in person).
  • Reservations for the area cannot be made before you check in. On arrival, guests may inquire about available time slots for the remainder of the day. 


Evergreen Restaurant – As of September 20th seated service in the restaurant & lounge is not permitted at this time. Outdoor dining is allowed at our patio for up to 4 household members per table. Evergreen Restaurant will still offer in-room dining or pick up for our guests.


Grotto Spa – Open for treatment bookings by appointment only.


Social Distancing will be practiced in the lobby and throughout the hotel with indication markers in place.  Please limit in person interactions with our employees to one member of your household at a time. 


We want to assure you that we will continue to practice heightened sanitation methods in public spaces, our restaurant, and our guestrooms. Sanitization stations and plexi glass barriers are in place. The health and safety of our guests, our employees, and our community remains a top priority. 


International Travellers


  • The Canadian Government has announced relaxed entry restrictions for fully vaccinated travellers that have taken effect September 7, 2021. See for more information.


If you exhibit any symptoms or have been in contact with anyone who has been diagnosed with Covid-19, please contact us to cancel your stay. If you become ill during your stay, please inform our Front Desk immediately so that we can take proper precautions immediately.
